Best Friends

Avery went on her first ever play date (without Mommy or Daddy) last week.  Avery and Maggie have been in daycare together ever since they were in the infant room, and they have been best friends for most of that time.  There birthdays are just a couple of weeks apart and they adore each other!  Often times when we arrive at daycare to drop Avery off, Maggie is also arriving, and they run to each other and hug and tell everyone that is nearby, "This is MY best friend!"  So cute to see two little girls that have developed such a strong bond at such a young age.

So Avery had started asking us at home on a pretty regular basis if she could go to Maggie's house sometime.  I always responded that maybe she could and that this summer for their birthdays I'm sure we'd be getting together with them again.  Well, if you know Avery, when she wants something, she asks for it.  She is not shy about that!  So, she had started asking Maggie's Mom (Lynn) when she picked Maggie up from daycare when she could come to their house and play.  At home if you don't pay attention to her when she is talking to you, she'll just reach up and hold your face and move it in her direction.  Cracks me up!  I can imagine her doing something like that to Lynn. :)  In any case, Lynn felt compelled to comply with Ms. Avery's request, and last week she picked up both girls for a play date at their house.  The girls had a blast, and we almost couldn't get Avery to come back home with us. And, of course, all we hear at home now is, "When can I go back to Maggie's house?"  That girl knows what she wants!  Just love her!
